Focusing on the Future -Career and Academic Planning

Focusing on the Future (FOF) exposes high-ability learners to career opportunities related to the arts, humanities, mathematics, and sciences. The program also informs parents of considerations and guidelines for effective career and academic planning.

The experience includes large and small group sessions for students and parents. Following an opening session, students in grades 6-8 attend four workshop sessions, each session offering six different topics. Parallel sessions are held for students in grades 9-12, parents, and counselors. Other activities include a lunchtime panel discussion with Williams & Mary students and an opportunity for a campus tour.
