While Chapter Twelve is the ending of Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds, it is also the beginning.
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” – Marie Robinson, Teacher
This chapter is a call for teachers to make a commitment to take their students into a connected, authentic learning world by changing their own habits and grooming new skills. To, in essence, “Rock the World!”
The cornerstone of this chapter is on page 300 “If You Only Read One Thing, Read This.” While I found the entire book to be filled with inspirational ideas, if you just can’t get to the whole thing right now, flip to page 300 and read it. Then, decide what your “Big Three” are going to be.
Share it here.
Committing to the three things you chose here, will help you accomplish them! You will find others that want to try the same three things and will support you, or others that have already done those three things and will give you advice. And, if nothing else, the process of posting your big three here will help you hold yourself accountable.
I’ll start.
