Today I say goodbye. The crumbled plaster and tile give way with each footfall. Today I will leave forever, my haven to dust, like rust on the teetering railingĀ I caress with the fuzzy tips of my lavender gloves. Today I must pack up my soul, stored here for so long. The solitary chair slowly decaying in the corner bids me farewell. The stiff, brown stalks, laden with coarse leaves bow their heads. I nod back, a respecting bow from the friends I so cherish. I gather glimmers and reflections, and with one last shaky breath, plunge into the foggy unknown.
