We welcome you to our class blog. Our mission with our 7th grade blog is to link our ideas and beliefs with the people who can support us and our cause. We hope to create positive change through our ideas, words, and actions. We are a public school in Alexandria, VA called George Washington Middle School 2. During the 2012-2013 school year, we worked on the following projects:

Adding bulletin boards in our hallways: We now have 5 new bulletin boards up in our hallways! Thanks to ACE Hardware in Alexandria City.

Creating a photography club at our school: We are currently working on getting more community mentors to get this club up and running for the 2013-2014 school year.

Bringing a farmers market to our community members at an affordable rate: This mission evolved, but we were unsuccessful. However, we learned public relation skills and communication skills.

Creating a morning news show at our school: By the end of last school year, we produced a few news shows.

Creating a newspaper at our school: This mission evolved, but we were unsuccessful. However, we became quite the journalists in the end.
- Improving our intramural sports program: We presented data and a new proposal for intramurals for our school to the ACPS Intramural Committee. Although we had raised $340 in funds, our proposal was vetoed by the committee.
- Improving our school salad bar: This mission evolved, but we were unsuccessful in the end. However, we became excellent researchers.
- Improving students’ morale by posting Twitter shout-outs: We did this for 3 months last year.
