Dark Marionette

Surrounded by children joyous and jolly
I'm here to entertain
Singing and dancing as people arrived
be in a box as dark as the night

As time flies by I feel nothing but cold
Brrr Brrr
I stiffen and harden
as dust covers me like a blanket

Light blinds me like a deer in the headlights
as I'm lifted out of that prison of nothing
I'm washed then dried by the wind
who tip-toes in quietly
To make feel alive again

  1. I really like your title. It drew me in and made me want to read the poem. I also really liked the last part where the wind washes and dries you and tiptoes in. Great imagery!
