Its been there since as long as I could remember, the rusty old chair. When my family first moved in to the old slowly rotting away apartments. I saw it when I was carrying my stuff to our old yet new apartment. It was just sitting there in the field with highly overgrown grass. It had some papers sitting on top of the chair. When the children were playing outside no one dared go near the chair. I wondered why no one went near the chair. I asked the children why they didn’t go near the chair but all they did was look of me crazily and walk away. One day I did the unthinkable, I walked over to the chair and picked up the papers. The last thing I heard was Noooo!
Rain drops falling
a summer day,
will it stop?
Catching droplets
relaxing and soothing,
is it cold?
Sun in the distance,
rays hitting my face.
Catching droplets,
What a wonderful sun shower.
Sweat dripped down my forehead like it was raining bullets. All the bodies around me felt like they were closing in on me. The line for the Sky rush was like a snake slowly inching near it’s prey, but unfortunately the prey was the roller coaster. I glanced at my brother, Buddy who was acting like he was throwing a football five hundred feet into the air. My cousin, Kendrick , who was standing next to me looked angry, probably because of the heat. I looked at my god sister, Lorraine, who didn’t look pretty happy either.”Why does the line have to be so long!” Lorraine yelled in frustration.
The line inched once more. I sighed and looked back at my mother who was sitting on the bench scrolling on her iPhone. After another thirty minutes of waiting Buddy, Kendrick, Lorraine, and I finally got into viewing distance of the roller coaster. I got more and more excited as I got closer and closer to the roller coaster. Finally it our turn to get on the roller coaster. Everything was loud around me. I could hear the other people screaming from the other roller coasters. Suddenly my face turned hot and I got a lump in my stomach.
“Are you ready?” Lorraine asked. “ I don’t know,” I said with my voice trembling. The silver automatic gates flung open to each row of the roller coasters. I walked in first and sat down on the end seat because my brother was too chicken to take the end seat. The blue and yellow seats were hard. “ Welcome to the Sky rush, while riding the ride please remain seated, keep your hands and inside the cart, and enjoy the ride,” the man on the loudspeaker said. Suddenly the black foam seat protectors flung down and pressed against my body so tight that it felt like I couldn’t breathe.
Suddenly the the ride started moving. My face turned red as I looked at my brother, who looked scared out of his mind. The ride started moving up the huge incline inch by inch. I was grasping the handles on the seat so hard that if I really tried I could possibly rip them off the seat. Finally we reached the top. Noticing the huge drop I was really starting to second guess my choice. The ride tipped over a bit then fell.” Ahhhhh…,” I yelled. The force of gravity was pulling so hard that the feeling of butterflies in your stomach was starting to feel like a little person inside of your stomach was hitting the inside of your stomach with a hammer.
The wind was pulling my cheeks back so far that you could see the inside of my mouth. I looked up and saw a loop. I thought in my head, why did I do this. As we got closer to the loop I closed my eyes. The ride jerked up and went upside down. All the blood rushed to my head. When the loop was done I saw a sharp turn. The sharp turn made the whole ride jerk and made my head hit the side of the ride. Lots of dreadful pain went on in my head. I looked up once more and saw that the ride was coming to an end. I thanked the lord that the ride was over. The ride pulled in the station and stopped. The black foam seat protectors flung up and I could breath again. “ Never again,” I said. Lorraine just laughed at me knowing it wasn’t true.
