Finding the Right “Fit” College

Are you still looking for a way to find a college that would be a good match for you? After you explore the SuperMatch College Search tool in Naviance, take a moment to read this article link for some key things to consider as you do your college research and try to narrow down your list to the most appropriate colleges for you.

Also, a major part of that fit is visiting campuses, and the fall of your senior year is a great opportunity to help you see your future options in a meaningful way to help you determine the “fit.” There are a number of local colleges that are opening their doors to prospective students for an Open House or a weekend visit. Check in with the Admissions Department of the schools you are interested in to explore this option. Here are a few examples of upcoming events:

James Madison University Open House link

George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering Open House link

Or continue to set up visits during regular visitation times like many of you have been doing over the past year. Another great idea that some of you have taken advantage of is visiting your family/friends who are enrolled on campuses that you are interested in attending. That’s a great way to get a firsthand experience to see if that is the school for you!
