First Round of Summer College Visit Pictures

It’s finally summer, and what better way to spend your time than in school! So excited to see pictures coming in from college visits that Class of 2016 seniors have begun to take this summer.

Thank you to Shayla for sharing pictures during her visit to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Also, Ed shared pictures from his week, with our other Boys State representatives, on the campus of Radford University.

Social Media Intern Opportunity

I am excited to write to you today to announce a fun opportunity for youth with Youth Voice Alexandria. We are on the hunt for a youth/young adult to fill the role of a social media intern who would improve their social media skills by bringing awareness and promoting education on the unique issues youth face in our communities. We are looking for a young person who has some experience or an understanding of either the mental health, foster care, juvenile justice, or education systems. This young person will be responsible for developing content for YVA’s social media sites and our website (which will be launched soon!!). Please review the social media internship application below, and submit it as soon as possible. Should you  have any further questions, please send an email (jeremy.long@alexandriava.gov) or call me via the number below. Our timeline is to do interviews mid to end of July with training in August and then full time in September when school begins.

You could be the perfect person to fill this internship!
