We’re almost through with the first quarter of senior year (1/4 done!!), and hopefully you have established your plan of action to finish your high school career strong. Please remember that there are a couple of days next week where we will not have a regular schedule:
Tuesday, November 3rd Election Day! and no school for students (Great day to go see our field hockey team in the regional playoff!)
Friday, November 6th Early Release at 1:15 for Teacher Work Day
First quarter report cards will be mailed out the week of November 9th, and grades will be finalized in PowerSchool by that date.
November Brings the First Big Deadlines of the School Year
As we start the new month by turning our clocks back and hour (on Sunday), we get a little more time to make sure you don’t miss some important deadlines:
November 1st: Priority and a number of Early Action/Early Decision Due Dates
November 4th: Onsite Admissions for Virginia State University (apply online by 11/2, and register in the College and Career Center) flier
November 6th: Norther Virginia Community College Pathways Program Application is due to your counselor
As Soon As Possible: Sign up for the November 20th ASVAB test
November 17th: Presentation for College Bound Athletes

Have you taken a look at Mrs. Feldman’s November Scholarship list (link). The Scholarship Fund of Alexandria application goes live November 1st, so take a look this weekend! Also, take a look at this scholarship opportunity with a new deadline, and perfect for Government students:
One hundred seventy five high school juniors and seniors statewide will be selected to participate in the inaugural offering of the course from December 2015 through April 2016. Three dual-enrollment college credits will be offered through Thomas Nelson Community college with costs underwritten by the VSGC. The application deadline is November 8. Flier

This will be an opportunity to complete the “pink packet” for those of you who are not applying Early Action/Decision or Priority.
