Online Students: Are you on pace?

If you are taking an online course, please remember that you have to be at least 50% completed by the end of the quarter in order to stay on track to complete the course by the end of the school year. Also remember that wherever you are in the course (pace and grade), will be reflected on your report card, and sent to colleges as part of your midyear grades. Please use every opportunity to stay on pace, or even get ahead whenever possible. Some of you have been making excellent progress, especially over the extended/unexpected break! If you need time on the weekend to try to get caught up, remember that you can come to Saturday Academy from 9-12 to have some time to focus on your online coursework. In addition, everyone has access to Tutor.com for assistance with assignments 24/7.

Looking for an Alternative Year After High School

Take a peek at Americorps CityYear Program, and see if this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Their deadline is February 15, 2016, so take a look quick and feel free to ask questions if you would like to know more. Link

City Year ProgramAn Attitude of Gratitude

As you are completing applications for colleges, jobs, scholarships, and others opportunities, be sure to take a moment to thank those individuals who have supported your journey. For the family members who have been there through it all, take a moment to say thanks. To the professionals who have written letters of recommendation, let them know how much you appreciate them, and the outcome of your application. A little gratitude goes a long way, and the more you express it the more you find you are grateful for.

Attitude of gratitudeWith so many deadlines coming up next week (SFA scholarship (with FAFSA SAR if necessary), February 1st colleges, then 2nd quarter ends (2/8), etc.), we will end with stay focused, stay on schedule, and stay excited about what your future will hold. We are almost halfway through, and there is so much more to look forward to!!
