A Little Rock

The stars are all around me
the brightest one
is the one I need
its light licks my surface
as I spin endlessly
all the little people
walk upon my skin like bugs
the water hugs my surface
I feel very snug

suddenly I am a flame
there is so much pain
centered around a large island
I don't even know its name
when it ends all the bugs on the island are gone
the silence that sears can't be sated or satisfied
the little people are hurting each other
it isn't glorified

don't they realize that they're all in this together
like a small lost boat on the open sea
how difficult can it be
to unify and cut their tethers

they're all just tiny people
sitting on a little rock
floating through space
like a small lost boat on the open sea
