I Wonder

Nick

What’s out there

I wonder

Deep down, dark and dank

Drawing for me a blank

What’s out there

Nothing to be seen

Don’t know what to expect

What does it all mean

What’s out there

Giving me no clue

What do I do

It’s covering the blue

What’s out there

What I don’t know scares me

Forcing me to believe

There’s something there to beware

What’s out there

The darkness looks down on me

It’s dark eyes like colorless balls of light

Lighting up my fear as I sleep every night.
Whats out there?

10,000 More Miles By: Nick

We will fly
Across ocean and sea
You on a plane
Sitting next to me.
To Paris and Frankfurt
Amsterdam and Madrid
Barcelona and Geneva
Flying like the air whizzing past what we did.
We walk many ways on white wet stones
They remember our feet
And when we come back again
They remember the meet.
Across the ocean and sea
Me and you, You and me
The whole 10,000 more miles, my son
You will be sitting with me.

I Fly

I am a Mockingbird

Singing my song

In the morning I wake you

You hear my beautiful voice

All day long

I am an eagle

Soaring on strong wings

Beating and beating

making the wind sing

I am a bird

Using my head

I’m able to plan and execute

My knowledge is always fed.

How Sad Is It

Our topic is poverty. We chose this topic for a number of reasons. First it was something that our entire group thought was a worldwide issue and we all had knowledge on the subject. Secondly, it is a topic that needs to be opened to the eyes of others. Poverty is something that affects people around the world. Some people who don’t see the effects of poverty everyday don’t understand how big of an issue it is. And that is why we wrote this poem. To show the world that living with a small two story house with food and water is more than some people will ever have.
