First Friday News Blast

The first week of senior year is now complete, and we hope your year is off to an excellent start. It was so great seeing you this week (even if it was for schedule changes 😉 ), and we look forward to seeing all of you at the 12th grade assembly on Tuesday, September 15th. There is so much information we need to share with you, but here is just a little bit for your weekend reading pleasure…

Good luck on the ACT for those of you taking it this Saturday! Don’t forget to complete your Food and Nutrition form (link) in order to qualify for fee waivers, and sign up for the upcoming SAT or ACT before deadlines pass you by.

Don’t forget to have your car washed this Saturday by the Class of 2016 from 11-4PM. Great way to get your car cleaned and help raise funds for senior year!

Summer SOL expedited retakes (for students who scored 375-399 on an exam this summer) will be administered on September 17-18. Please see your counselor if you have any questions about your exam(s).

Schedule changes will only be made through this Friday, September 18th. Please understand that we have very limited options for a variety of reasons, and your decision to change your schedule at this point after careful planning in the spring needs to be valid and well substantiated.

College visits in the College and Career Center have begun. Check Naviance for a complete listing, and to reserve your space. You will also need to see Mrs. Johnson in the College and Career Center for a pass. Here are some of the upcoming visits:

Early Admissions/Early Decisions/Priority Deadline/Questbridge applicants be sure to check with your counselor right away about a special planning meeting on September 17, 2015. Additionally, you must sign-up in advance in order to receive a pass from LC12 to attend this meeting.

September 29, 2015 is the Senior Class meeting where we will review the Senior Handbook, including important processes (ie. how to request your official transcript)

September/October Scholarship newsletter is now available. Please see Mrs. Feldman and the following for more information:

  • Scholarship email list (local & national private scholarships): ow.ly/LL1yJ
  • Twitter (events & university specific scholarships): @TC2College

If you did not take your senior pictures, it turns out they will be coming back to campus in October. Here is the schedule:

Senior make-up photos are scheduled October 6th-9th from 8-4:30 PM in the auditorium. You can contact LifeTouch at 1-800-445-1189 or UCAnswers@lifetouch.com to confirm an appointment that week or to see them at their Baltimore location. You can also schedule your senior pictures at any other vendor of your choosing. However, if you would like to have your picture in the yearbook and a student ID, you will need to bring a digital copy of your basic senior picture image for Mrs. Gaskins (Yearbook teacher) and Mr. McGreevy (Security and ID cards).

Last, but certainly not least, mark your calendars for these important upcoming dates:
