National Decision Day Celebration

On Friday, May 13th, TC will celebrate National Decision Day during all lunches to honor you and your plans for after high school! Stop by the Titan Den during your lunch block to decorate a free t-shirt with your post-secondary plans, enjoy a cupcake, and enter for a chance to win a gift basket full of supplies for your dorm room.

  1. Thurgood Marshall Wells Fargo Scholarship – May 6, 2016 – $7,000 scholarship open to current college students enrolled at one of the 47 publicly-supported HBCUs within the TMCF member-school network; applicants must have with financial need and 3.0+ GPA
  2. SunTrust Sweepstakes – May 13, 2016 – $500 scholarship drawing
  3. Pride of Fairfax County Lodge #298 Scholarship (application available in LC12 or Mrs. Feldman’s office) – May 20, 2016 – Open to  high school seniors with 2.5+ GPA and community service involvement
  4. Congressional Black Caucus Education Scholarship – May 20, 2016 – Open to graduating African American seniors and current college students with GPA of 2.5 or higher
  5. B. Davis Scholarship – May 23, 2016 – $1,000 essay contest open to students of all ages
  6. ASBC Mississippians Scholarship (application attached) – May 27, 2016 – $500 scholarship open to students with GPA of 3.0 or higher who will be attending an HBCU next year (preferably in Mississippi)
  7. CEW Foundation (application attached) – May 30, 2016 – Open to current college students and high school seniors with 3.0+ GPA
  8. Mary Blackwell Barnes ScholarshipMay 31, 2016 – Open to female students who are of rising sophomore, junior, or senior status at a VA or DC college who display interest in the field of public finance
  9. Minerva Beauty Scholarship – May 31, 2016 – Open to students currently enrolled in a cosmetology program; 3.0 GPA or higher
  10. Whitaker Foundation Art Scholarship Program – May 31, 2016 – $2,000 scholarship for art students with a special emphasis on watercolor and museum studies

June

  1. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship – June 1, 2016 – Open to students interested in cosmetology or barbering schools
  2. NASA Community College Aerospace Scholarship – June 1, 2016 – 5 week online program with NASA and opportunity to Community college students interested in the STEM disciplines who have taken or are currently enrolled in 9+ hours of STEM coursework are eligible to apply.
  3. American Indian Nurse Scholarship – June 1, 2016 – Candidate must be at least 1/4 American Indian and enrolled in a nursing program; $3,000 per year renewable scholarship
  4. Animation Career Review – June 1, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship open to seniors pursuing an animation related degree program
  5. Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship – June 1, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship for a current or future college student who plays, or has played, a high school sport
  6. Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship – June 1, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship for students who intend to pursue a fashion related field of study
  7. A&F Scholarship – June 10, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship open to high school juniors and seniors as well as current college students; essay on career and life goals
  8. TechChecks Scholarship – June 15, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship open to minority students pursuing careers in business management and administration, finance, accounting or marketing; GPA of 3.5+ and Math ACT score of 26+ (or average SAT of 1070, excluding writing)
  9. Big Sun Athletic Scholarship – June 17, 2016 – All seniors who are student athletes are eligible; $500 scholarship award
  10. Providian Medical Scholarship – June 21, 2016 – Essay contest on medical technology; $500 scholarship open to current college students and high school seniors
  11. Automotive Hall of Fame – June 30, 2016 – 3.0 GPA or higher; open to high school seniors and college students interested in an automotive career
  12. Aspiring Nursing Scholarship – June 30, 2016 – $1,000 scholarship open to high school seniors planning to pursue nursing career
