Week Two and Lots to Do (and News to Share)

Week two is done, and we are well underway. There is a lot of excitement (and stress) in the air, but we are working together to make it through one day at a time. The luau was a great success and a wonderful way to let off some senior year steam. Great job leadership team!

Schedule Changes

The window to make general changes closed on Friday. We will explore level changes (from AP/DE to traditional) at the end of the quarter on a case by case basis, but other than that this was it!

In the meanwhile, enjoy this video about schedule changes that has given the counselors a reason to smile during this busy time of requests for changes.

SOL Testing Opportunities

This week some seniors had an opportunity to retake SOL tests that they took this summer and scored between 375-399, just below the passing score of 400. Seniors who still need an SoL for a verified credit for a course they took in previous years, will have opportunities this fall to receive remediation and retake those tests. At this time the Writing SoL retakes are scheduled for November, and the non-writing (Reading, Math, Science, and History) SoLs are scheduled for early December. More information to come, so please stay tuned.

Opportunities Abound

Are you looking for volunteer, or job opportunities? As we learn of great experiences in the community, we will post them in our “Opportunities” tab. Please take a look at what’s there, including a great volunteer position that was just posted this week. Stay tuned for more.
