Pedestrian Awareness

Fourth grade students will research and develop a plan to raise awareness and educate their school community on pedestrian safety and benefits to walking.

Students: 4th grade students at Mount Vernon Community School

Why is pedestrian safety important?
Where in the community do you recognize pedestrian awareness?

Standards:

Virginia SOL 4.3d – Identify activities that can be done at school and at home to meet fitness goals.

Virginia SOL 4.4a – Identify a group goal and the strategies needed for successful completion while working productively and respectfully with others.

SHAPE Standard 4.E5 – Exhibits etiquette and adherence to rules in a variety of physical activities.
